MidSouth Boykin Spaniel Retriever Club Dove Shoot – 2008

Bear Creek Hunting Preserve, Autaugaville, AL

The 2008 MSBSRC Dove Shoot will be held on the Opening Day of Alabama’s North Zone Hunting Season – September 6, 2008 at Bear Creek Hunting Preserve http://www.bearcreekhunting.com/ .  As last year, this event is open to both members and non-members.  If you are a non-member, we hope that you will enjoy spending time with our club and decide to join.  If nothing else, we hope that you will enjoy seeing our little brown dogs do what they do best – hunt and retrieve.

The shoot will kick off with a lunch at the Bear Creek Equipment Shed (directions to come at a later date).  We will begin cooking lunch at 11:00 AM.  Alabama state law does not allow shooting to begin until after 12 noon on Opening Day.  In past years, the birds typically do not begin to enter into the field until after 2:00 PM.  You may arrive early to claim your spot on the field.  Only a limited number of hunters will be allowed on this hunt.  Payment received secures your spot on the field.  The shoot will conclude at sunset or once you have your limit.  An Alabama Hunting License is required for those shooting and can be obtained on-line at http://www.outdooralabama.com/hunting/ .

The cost of the shoot is as follows (lunch is included with price):

Adult Shooter (16 and older) = $75

Youth Shooter (15 and younger) = Free

Youth Shooter MUST Sit With an Adult

Adult Non-Shooter / Observer = $10

Youth Non-Shooter / Observer / Bird-dogger = Free

Bring Plenty of Water for Your Dog!
